All is lost.

All.
I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore.
My thoughts are filled with hatred and dripping with rage.
I've lost my soul.
She took it to the depths of Hell with her and haunts me with images of what could have been.
Sixty lives are mine to take.
Sixty lives stand in the way of my vengeance.
Sixty lives plus one more.
Mine.
When the last drop of blood falls — mine will be spilled.
Only one person stands in the way.
She doesn't realize I'll kill her too.
I don't own a heart.
And even if I did — I wouldn't fall prey to its lies again.
I am Chase Abandonato.
Heir to a legacy of betrayal.
And I will kill them all.
Even if it means pointing the gun at myself.
A life for a life.
A soul for a soul.

Now I lay me down to sleep… I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
Blood in. No out.

Tracey’s Review:

Rachel has the Mafia world on lockdown like no other.  Chase is out for De Lange blood and no one better stand in his way.  Then in walks Luciana and all hell breaks loose.  She pushes all of Chase's buttons and pulls him away from the darkness or does she make it worse?  But Luciana has a secret that she doesn't even understand.  Rachel Van Dyken, you are an evil genius and I loved every minute of this life threatening, heartbreaking and angst filled darkness that is burned into my heart and soul.

Ceej’s Review:

I must say that Eulogy is tied with one other Eagle Elite book for my favorite.  It was bloody, rage-filled, gritty, wicked hot, and shocking.  I absolutely loved it!

At the end of the previous book, I felt so bad for Chase.  The grief, betrayal, and utter madness were palpable in this book.  One part of me wanted to join Chase in his rage while another part just wanted to hug him, and yet another part wanted to just shake him.  I felt bad for the rest of his family.  They had to make decisions and steel themselves for the worst.

I really enjoyed and loved Luciana.  I think she’s perfect for Chase.  She is everything he’s not and that’s what he needed.  She had some surprises for Chase and I admit that there was one part where she made a mistake and my heart pounded for her.  But what really had me tearing up was the one question she asked him.  Oh man.  That was just…I can’t even right now.

Rachel Van Dyken rocked yet another mafia novel and I am not surprised.  She had my heart going through a rollercoaster from being filled with rage along with Chase, fear for Luciana, wicked hotness from both of them, stopping from the shockers, then fear for Luciana again, praise for Luciana, and just glowing for both of them by the end.  The shockers she put in this one had me wanting more.  Hint, hint, RVD!  LOL!

Excerpt:

BLOOD. BLOOD. BLOOD.

It covered my hands.

It surged through my heart.

It dripped from my fingertips onto the concrete floor.

Trapped.

Broken.

Finished.

Hungry.

Insanity scratched its way into my psyche as I eyed the door and waited. One heartbeat, two heartbeats, three…

It opened.

I fired two rounds, and acrid smoke filled the air.

I thought I knew what love was. I was a fucking idiot. Every single bone in my body shuddered with rage, with the need to rip something apart, someone, anyone —all of them. My friends. My brothers. I brought the war to our house, and they would finish me because of it.

I’d thought I loved her.

Our love had been a lie.

Her betrayal my only truth.

And now?

Now, I finally knew what love was. I’d seen it, smelled it, tasted it.

And lost it.

I’d fucking lost it.

They would pay. They would all pay.

For taking her.

For turning her against me.

For making me believe that blood was everything, only after mine was spilled.
